Authorised, and ready to be supervised.

Applications for permission, variations of permission, change in control and senior manager approvals, with the business plan and policies that survive the FCA's questions.

What we prepare

  • Regulatory business plan
  • Policies and procedures
  • Threshold conditions evidence: appropriate resources (COND 2.4) and suitability (COND 2.5)
  • Perimeter analysis (PERG 2 and, for mortgages, PERG 4)
  • Senior manager applications (SUP 10C) and fitness and propriety (FIT 1.3.1G)
  • Variations of permission (SUP 6)

What applies now

The cryptoasset authorisation gateway opened on 30 September 2026 and accepts applications until 28 February 2027; the regime comes into force on 25 October 2027, and MLR registrations do not carry over 2224. Deferred payment credit lenders came under FCA regulation on 15 July 2026, with temporary permissions registration from 15 May 2026 21.

A note on scope

We will tell you if an activity is outside the perimeter, or if your proposed permission is narrower than your plan. Finding that out after authorisation is expensive.

Questions

Short answers, with the provision each one rests on.

When does the cryptoasset authorisation gateway close?

Applications are accepted from 30 September 2026 to 28 February 2027. The new regime comes into force on 25 October 2027, and existing MLR registrations do not convert automatically.

Does a buy-now-pay-later lender need FCA authorisation?

Lenders offering deferred payment credit to finance the purchase of goods or services from a merchant came under FCA regulation from 15 July 2026. Merchants lending directly, and broking of these agreements, are out of scope.
